So, I extract the .m2 file (and it's skins) from the WoW mpq, then I try to open them in mdlvis. Mdlvis keeps giving me and error that goes like this:
Access Violation at address 00402843 in module 'Mdlvis.exe'. Read address ########.
My copy of WoW is updated to the latest ver. (2.4 something), I'm extracting with MyWarcraftStudio 0.10.6, and I used an earlier version and the version currently in the download section of mdlvis.
Yeah, so I'm not sure what's wrong (except MyWarcraftStudio 0.10. is out of date).

You need MdlVis 1.40, not 1,39 for m2 models.
And which model don't open?

I tried to open: HydraOutland, HaremMatron, and Diablo.
So I'm using the wrong version of Mdlvis? Could you direct me to where I can get 1.40 please?

I just use it to convert the models. I know where the open button is and the save as button is. =\

Hy guys. I have the same problem. When I try to load any M2 model (wether it was in pre-bc or not), it says "Acces violation error". I don't know what the problem is. I looked for information about it, but nobody could answer me. I think we can seperate people into two groups: people who can convert wow models, and people who cant.

What can I do? What is the correct method?

I have question for you because im very proud of you and see that you have very good knowlage and genius mind. if you could help me with mdlvis with problem about open m2 files in newest patch 3.2 .x
BTW can i help in mdlvis project? that be always on top and always can read new patch models?is any possible my help? What i must to know to repair or change mdlvis to open files WoW? Please send me private message or if anyone can answer what to do what change and when to mdlvis works right :)
